Rainbow Flower Blanket

Everyone loves a rainbow and I'd done lots of stripes and stars in the past so it was great to do a rainbow of a completely different style. I chose to use Caron Simply Soft for the colourful parts of this blanket because the shades are so vivid and I needed a slightly heavier weight yarn than DK so it fit the bill. I used Watermelon, Sunshine, Green, Persimmon, Berry Blue and Grape for the flowers and the rest is Stylecraft Special Aran in Parchment.

The squares are once again based on Tillie Tulips Daisy square but you can see from the pictures that I've edged them with a solid stitch, a round of htr, in the colour to match the flower. I joined using the tight join as you go method, you can find a tutorial for this method on Scrappy Blanket's Blog

For the border I used Camel Stitch in each of the rainbow colours!

It was a really fun blanket to make!!! I don't claim to be a crochet designer of any sort, I just like to experiment but if you do decide to make a rainbow flower blanket just like mine it's always nice to get a little mention for the inspiration and of course most importantly don't forget to refer to Tillie Tulip for the original daisy square design
