We endeavour to have your order out to you as quickly as possible. We aim to dispatch cross stitch kits/charts within 2 working days of receiving cleared payment. Very occassionally there may be a delay with sampler kit materials however if this is the case we will always email you to let you know and give you an estimated despatch date.
Ready made crochet orders will also be dispatched within 2 working days of receiving cleared payment. Custom crochet orders have a turnaround time stated on the listing.

Cross Stitch FAQ

What is included in a cross stitch kit?

  • A colour picture of the finished design
  • A black and white symbol chart and instructions
  • A gold plated needle
  • Zweigart aida fabric
  • Pre-sorted DMC threads

What is included in a cross stitch chart only pack?

  • A colour picture of the finished design
  • A black and white symbol chart and instructions

What is the difference between fabric counts?

14 count fabric produces 14 stitches per inch, 16 count fabric produces 16 stitches per inch. The higher the fabric count, the smaller the stitch and the smaller the finished design.

Can I have 28ct or 32ct evenweave fabric in my kit instead of aida?

Yes. I am more than happy to substitute aida with evenweave however it will add to the cost of the kit slightly. Evenweave is generally a more expensive fabric and as I don't use it as standard in my kits I have to order it in on request. If you would like me to arrange this for you please email me and I'll give you a cost dependent on the kit you would like to purchase.

Do I have to have a Paypal account to purchase from the website?

No - You can pay using any major credit or debit card or use your Paypal account if you have one.

Why do you no longer offer a Downloadable chart option?

Due to recent changes in VAT legislation I no longer offer this option through the website, You can however purchase my charts in PDF format through my Little Dove Samplers Etsy shop

How do I frame my finished sampler?

I would recommend having your finished piece professionally framed if you can. The fabric must be stretched and laced to ensure it lays flat and it's important to use correct mounts, glass etc so that the fabric and colours don't ruin in any way over the years.

What if I run out of thread in my kit?

There should be ample thread in your kit for you to complete the design once however stitching errors or knots occurring in the thread whilst stitching can cause you to run out occasionally. If you have run out of a particular thread please contact me with the details of the product, where you purchased it from and the specific colour number you are short of so that I can send you some more of the required colour

If you decide to stitch the design more than once you will either need to source your own materials or you can order a thread and/or fabric pack from me. Thread packs are £6 + p&p. Fabric and thread packs are £8.50 + p&p. Please contact me if you would like to order one. Please note I do not sell full skeins of DMC thread

Can I sell completed designs?

I am more than happy for my stitched designs to be sold for charity however please do not sell completed designs to the general public, they are for personal use only. If you are wanting to sell for charity please contact me first with the details so I am aware in advance
