If you've followed me for a while you'll know I favour bright, bold colour schemes! I do use pastels from time to time but I'm not really a big fan.
This combo is inspired by the bold prints of the seventies, I wanted it to have a retro feel, bright and maybe a bit clashing! It had to be granny squares too! This time though I only used two colours in each of the grannies, one round in one colour and two rounds in a contrast colour, it gives the effect of little crosses.
I made 144 little squares for my blanket (12 x 12) which resulted in 576 ends to sew in!.....if you don't like sewing in ends then this one isn't for you!

These are the colours I used
Scheepjes Colour Crafter
- Spa
- Wilnis
- Barneveld
- Burum
Stylecraft Special DK
- Magenta
- Powder pink
- Spearmint
Hayfield Bonus DK
- Moss Green

I'm always getting asked how I join. I used the join as you go method here, it's quick and it's easy
I didn't want a fussy or wide border on this one so did just four rounds of DC with Spa. This border has framed the little squares nicely without taking away from all the colour within them.

I hope you have found this combo inspiring and I'd love to see how you use it! I think it would make a great ripple! If you want to you can use hashtag #littledovecolourcombo to share your creations on social media
My blog is not monetised, I did for around three months introduce google ads to my blog posts however I just wasn't happy with the interruptions to my posts and the general look of it and I know as a reader myself that I much prefer to have a more flowing reading experience so they have now been disabled by choice.
I know some of you do like to in some way support the work that I do and so if you would like to support the time involved in producing the blog and videos and all the information I provide you can do so by 'buying me a coffee' via my Kofi page. I am always extremely touched anytime anybody chooses to do this, thank you.
Thank you and happy crocheting!
Faye :)
